Last night I got a tele-marketing call from a freelance call boy asking if I was interested in his services. He was very polite and I had a good giggle but I was wondering about the legality of such a thing. What if a muslim women answered for example?
In case you are wondering, the phone number is that of my Landlady but he didn't ask by name so I assume it was just a random call.
Anyone else had this?

Hey Tara, maybe we could have a TT whip-round and you can report on his 'services'?

Well, I assume that if a man answered he would hang up.

I've heard rumours about the agency that collects money for TV-licences (GEZ) doing phone calls to people, pretending to sell things, etc. They start chatting about random things and they might ask you if you watched a particular programme on TV.

No call boys or girls have called me, but I did see the
GEZ guy in the neighborhood recently.

Just wait until they send round someone to 'fix the pool...lay the pipe...clean your gutters...'

"a TT whip-round"? We don't know if he even offers those sort of services.
