You can only do this in person anyway - there's a form to complete and sign.
As IPJ indicates the service is not reliable in any case. Better to give a neighbo(u)r power of attorney ("Vollmacht") to collect parcels from the post office, and a key to your mailbox to check for the delivery card... This also avoids having to find where they are. That's your neighbo(u)rs problem
