Not computer games and not on the fifth

So, what night shall it be?
Looks like there is some lust for a strategy game that requires time. Fine by me as I would love to play a strategy game.
There will also be other games available as per the wishes of the attendees. On hand are various card games, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. We also have the use of Taboo in German, but language does not seem to be a barrier in this game.
If there is interest, I may do a Tennessee style Bar-B-Q. I need the warm up for the big one that is being planned in July by the Dems Abroad Munich.

keine ahnung...gotta check with the boss *cough*

Card games..sure...voted!

Well, I'll vote for a Saturday if that is better for the Tennessee BBQ! Perhaps you could try the 21st with a rain date of the 28th?

I'm not much for strategy games that take 8 hours to play, but I'm up for something fast that doesn't require too much concentration.

BBQ sounds great...but...shit.

I'm working now 6-days a week, so even on a saturday I may be running a bit late...usually make it back into town around 8pm...then again, maybe I won't have a tour that day, who knows wink.gif

As I didn't add it to my poll, at least not that I can remember, what is "Fish" and who voted for it?

To be honest, I am leaning to making it the 28th. There is nothing else going on that weekend and this next week is going to be very busy for me.

hey eurovol
so its on the 28th? what time and remunerations??

thanx in advance for the info smile.gif

Yepp, it is on the 28th. I will be doing a warm up BBQ for the big one coming in July. I figure a 6€ donation for all you can eat and a bit of drink should do fine. Rain or shine. Not sure what games are on the menu yet, but I am sure there will be something fun to play. wink.gif

I need to know who all is coming in order to go shopping for the BarBQ ingredients. Please sign up here by Friday morning at the latest.

I suggest the strategy games begin earlier in the afternoon. We can sit in the garden and play while the shoulders smoke. Eating will be around 5ish, but there will be enough for the late comers who have to work. wink.gif

Ok, I need to know who all is coming on Saturday please.
I will start smoking the BarBQ tomorrow night. That means that I am going shopping tomorrow. This is also a test run for the big one in July (July 3rd so mark your calendars).
The "biergarten" will open at 2pm. This would be a good time to start the strategy games. Those that are interested in that, please speak up as I do not have any of those games and you will have to bring them.
I have on hand-Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Taboo (I think?), Scottland Yard and about two dozen assorted games in German as well as cards. We can also play fictionary using German words. That actually might be kind of fun. There are some weird German words. Anything is possible. tongue.gif
I also have British/German sat in case there are any sports of interest on TV.

Eating will be 5pm-ish. Of course, there will be food available for late comers who have to work. The cost of the all you can eat BBQ and cheap (better than Bud) beer will be around €5-6.50ish.

I have about 10 people on the list as of now.

The menu:
Pulled pork BBQ sandwhiches and a variety of sauces (chicken substitute for anyone who doesn't eat pork wink.gif ).
Baked beans (this will have bacon, but you can push it aside if that works for you)
Potato salad
Cole slaw
Cherry pies (yes, real cherry pies southern style!)

Kids are also welcome! smile.gif

I will be there. Not much for strategy games, so I'll probably show up closer to the eating time. I can't pass up a good, home-cooked Southern meal.

Thanks for the chicken substitute! biggrin.gif

You should set up a beer pong table, or maybe a table for flip cup...

I have not heard from the people who wanted to play strategy games.
It seems several of them may be on the Andechs list. We could have a small Backgammon tourney.
This may be the last games night/day until September, so speak up if your coming. I am going shopping now!
For those with little ones, you can still come to hang out with us in the garden all afternoon, let the kids play, eat BBQ and leave early. As we will be here all day BBQing, you can even come earlier.
Cheaper than Andechs and more filling. wink.gif

Anyone in town (not at Andechs) and looking for something cheap and fun, come on out for the best BBQ this side of the Mississippi. biggrin.gif
I probably made too much, but what the hey, it's Memorial Day (weekend).
