LAN Gaming night. Please enter the date you can attend.
DrivinWest
For me it is mostly a metter of when the weather looks like shit and I'm not playing ultimate frisbee... next rainy Saturday for positive.
3 Lions
DW - We cant do the 7th, its the 80's party, so that will also rule out the 6th as well.
parnell
Good for 29th and 30th
Jawn
lets see how many others are interested. then we will set the place next
ChemicalBurn
Im in if you guys are short on people, but let me check if my brother's computer specifications. Though Im pretty sure that it would be fine running Starcraft... 29th and 30th
Inflatablewoman
I am away for all those dates, but would be interested in a further date.
jayhay
What games do you guys play? (I've never been to a LAN party before)
marya
I'm most likely free for some starcraft or Counter Strike Original on either of those weekends, preferably the one in May, but either way... My brother most likely would want to go too, and it'd be a great opportunity to meet some new people.
I'm up for file swap as well.

Brendan
Jawn
I have never played Starcraft. It is being mentioned a lot so maybe I should give it a try. Counter-Strike Source is $49.95 which also includes Half Life 2. If you want Half Life 2:Deathmatch included it is $59.95. Convert this to Euros or Pounds and it looks cheaper. If any of you decide to buy we can have a TT Lan Party online . There are some german servers we can play on. You need broadband for this. Who wants to try an online meeting?

www.streampowered.com

Looks like the LAN party may be April 30. Lets see who else is interested.
BostonSportsFan
I can't do April 30, but anytime after that I should be good. Again, visitors that weekend.
CodeRed
you let me know, I will try to free up time and get the lady to agree. wink.gif
Jawn
Looks like May 6 is winning.. if you can make it May 6, let me know.

Possible locations

Bobingen - My House

The Arc - although several laptops in a noisy bar on Saturday night.. hmmmm
parnell
Sorry guys May 6/7 weekend out for me
Kebab Meister
No can do any of those dates. Catch you next time.
DrivinWest
From a weather perspective this week looks like crap. Why don't we meet on Wednesday or Thursday night at either The Arc or The Twisted Bavarian and have a go with Starcraft.

I suggest Starcraft for our 1st meeting as the hardware required is minimal (any laptops made in the last few years should cut it) plus between parnell and I we can install it on everybody's machine for free (the CD I have allows client installations but you can't run the game standalone without being connected to my PC).

Thoughts?
CodeRed
sounds great. this is fantastic because anyone with a laptop and minimal graphic specs can come. let's do it. do you have a hub?? how do you wanna connect? doesnt SC limit to 4 people?

i can do both wed and thu.
3 Lions
Are we talking WLAN here?
DrivinWest
Oooh, I dunno about the limitation but 4 very well may be correct. I'll check tonight. I have a hub which is probably the way to go (though I have to take apart my setup at most to get it to work). Does anybody have an extra? Maybe somebody who recently upgraded to WLAN?
CodeRed
have a router but cant take it away as my roommates will kill me
BostonSportsFan
I could do Wednesday as long as Ultimate Frisbee isn't going on. Can't do Thursday though.

As for the limitation for Starcraft, isn't it 8 people? I remember 8 people playing at once online, but is it different when using a hub?

Wednesday is rocking for me...I'll have laptop prepared...I could probably try and steal/borrow a hub from work or something
@Boston ... yeh man you can roll with 8

I'll bring a set of sockets (5) but I reckon someone should bring at least another 1.
Also please remember to bring your own LAN cables folks (suggest you all rob/borrow) from work

I got a two-yr-old noname 4-port router on eBay until Saturday but even at a snappchen €1 it ain't got bids. If it remains this way, PM me on Sunday and arrange to collect. NO charge :-)
CodeRed
Thursday would be better for me, but if you confirm Wednesday I can try to change plans.
DrivinWest
Sounds like Wed at The Arc is no good for them anyways...
parnell
(This) Thursday also works for me
Jawn
I have switchess and many hubs.. I can most likely make it Thursday night.
Someone will have to teach me how to play SC.

Looks like LAN Night will not happen in the coming weeks.. but I like the idea of this go at The Arc.

Is it a go?
CodeRed
Yeah, do we confirm this now?
parnell
Houston confirms launch
Jawn
does The Arc have a power point near the tables?
Hazza
We have a few powerpoints around and some powerboards and extension leads. We can arrange it without any worries...

Just let us know in advance when you'd like to do this and we can prepare for you. It would be best to arrange for a slower night - during the week when there's no major sport on, or on a Sunday.
DrivinWest
powerpoints? It's outlets you weirdos.

See you THURSDAY!
BostonSportsFan
I swore for about 3 minutes you guys had corporate presentations all around the bar...
CodeRed
so THIS Thursday it is? I dont get it, sorry.
parnell
that's my understanding bud... THIS Thursday
CodeRed
coolio. am only trained in warcraft III right now, but will manage to kick some ass I believe.
3 Lions
Had a think about this and as I dont have a laptop, lugging my PC all the way to the TB or The Arc, will not only be a pain in the arse, but look pretty dumb to.
Hazza
In Australia, powerpoints are power outlets.

Powerpoint is a Microsoft application tongue.gif

So Thursday it is then...see you then!!
CodeRed
So confirmed attendants are:

DrivinWest
parnell
CodeRed
Jawn (?)
BostonSF (?)

who else?
parnell
C'mon dudes...we need an even number for team games
BostonSportsFan
Sorry, can't make it tomorrow night. Visitor.
DrivinWest
And I'm officially going to have to bail also; my tax person can see me today and only today. Sorry guys.
Jawn
is it just 3 of us now?

Bring headphones I suggest.

are we still a go with 3 of us? if so what time?

I play badminton at 7 but can change if this is a go
Nighthawk
We had a CS 1.6 LAN Party on Saturday near the Hauptbahnhof and rented the room for €10 per head if anyone is keen on the the having the address please send a pm.

There is also a password protected server set up for those who fancy doing some practice without having to take on the Internet Profis
CodeRed
I have one potential additional attendant. when would this start?
parnell

You makes 4:

CodeRed (RedWings expert)
DrivinWest (Everything expert)
Yourself (Just expert ok ?)
ME (Non-expert expert)

Im thinkin about 8.30 - 9ish... but I'll get early to set up

That late night thing at the hauptbahnof sounds great...IM totally in for that...usually they have a great selection of games available but arent they all auf Deutsch ?

CodeRed's potential additional makes five... I guess we could always use one more expert...we could start our own consultancy Im thinkin.
CodeRed
DW chickening out, see above. makes 4. Baran is in, btw.

Both him and me have no Starcraft expertise at the mom.
CodeRed
oh, no later than 830pm, i cant stay too late. smile.gif
parnell
Baran ? Ah kick ass brolski! who brings the hub ?

Are u serious about lateness ? Jesus balls and chain ? wink.gif
Jawn
Should I bring a switch? or Wifi? Also if someone needs a computer , I could always bring my LCDPC (allinone). It only has 256 ram though

its a pity we dont have internet there
