Flu Vaccination Costs

Does Insurance cover it?

MrsFindo
I'm wondering about getting either a normal flu vaccination or the swine flu vaccination and while everyone seems to have discussed whether it's a good idea or not I was hoping to find out the cost if any for a vaccination?
Does anyone know this? Or if health insurance may cover it? (we're with AOK)
Thanks :-)

I think many of the vaccines are free of cost, although I am not sure about the swine flu vaccine. Best would be to go to a Hospital and ask them.

The standard annual flu-vaccination is free of charge to public health insurance holders, and if this is your first time to the doctors in the quarter it does not even attract the €10 Praxisgebühr. The swine-flu vaccine is only funded by by public insurance if you belong to a recognised risk group. It's estimated that 50% of public insurance holders will have to pay themselves. Typical cost is €28

Thanks very much for your help :-)

While we all pay for the swine flu vaccinations through our insurance contributions and the insurance organisations only absorb part of the costs, it is free of extra charges for anyone (publicly or privately insured), no Praxisgebühr for getting the shot either, see here Contact your GP to get an appointment.
