as the winter closes in, i want to get a good winter coat, an army jacket or something to keep Jack Frost at bay.
Where is the best place to buy army surplus stuff in Berlin?

Secondly, I need to buy some padded envelopes to send off seven inch records, (ie. they should be approximately 7inches by 7inches big.

Where is the best place to buy cheap padded envelopes in Berlin, possibly wholesale?
snarfe
you could try the "trendy army store" on skalitzerstr or "colours" on bergmannstr (some clothes 13.99,- / Kilo) ...envelopes, maybe a Mäc-Geiz or a similar cheapo-tat shop
Sputnik
Great Army Surplus Shop on Greifswalderstrasse, Prenzlauerberg, close to Hufelandstrasse tramstop (M4)left hand side coming from city. Cheap as chips.

why does my post have -3 next to it?

go to the reputation thread in Metachat and ask why.

Who gave this guy minus points? People on this site are so dramatic.

But good job, I am sure it really gave him a sad feeling all day.

Maybe some people consider your questions too trivial that could be solved with a simple google search.
rhd
The reason why is because some left wing out of work types that cruise this site were offended by something you said, infact some are so left wing just mentioning the word Army in your post was probably enough!

Or because the original topic title was... not helpful?

Two Questions for you, (not about getting a job, hah
Envelopes and winter coats.

Example of a bad topic title: HELP!!!
Example of a good topic title: English-speaking doctors in Berlin - personal recommendations for a GP

The legalistic nature of this forum never ceases to amaze me. It's like people want less participation, rather than more...
MrNosey
Just don't look at the bottom right of a post, then you won't be offended. Why give a shit what some unknown people think of your post anyway?
Kanadisch
I don't care and I doubt that many othe people really care either, but it's strange. This place is like no other forum on the internet: it attempts to limit the number of users and how much they can participate, when other forums encourage new users and participation. If I could negative myself I would just do it to get it started. Bring it on you lovers of illogic and legalism.
Moonboot
there are 76,893 registered users on TT so they must be doing something right.

As they say every 10 words here in Saxony, "genau". If you don't have the wherewithal to find an envelope in one of the largest cities in Europe, how are you managing with the things that are actually complicated?
Kanadisch
Yeah except that of that 76 thousand that have ever been online at one time is 792. And the number of posts per members is very low.
