Hello:)

I've moved from Baltimore, MD where there was an AMAZING shelter that I did a lot of work for... I informed my (German) boyfriend that I would love to do some volunteer work over here while job-hunting and he told me that the shelters in the area are not as wonderful/amazing/lifesaving as the one I was with.

Is this really true? I've done a few web searches but the results are all in German (mostly) and my German is still pretty minimal.

For reference, my shelter in the US was the MD SPCA (mdspca.org). Truly an inspiration.
