Frenchman in Mannheim, how to meet American people

Hi there,

i dont know if i'm welcomed here, surrounded by all english fluent speakers.
Im a 30 yo french guy, and i came across this website, im really happy that i found it.

Im not here for a long time in Mannheim, but its been 2 months im here, and i still havent no german friends,
and even worse no german girlfriends , i think people here are special in someway.

I really now try to focus to find and make some american friends, as i noticed that there
a lot of americans and maybe canadians and maybe others.

I tried to find a place where they use to go, but all the sport center, bowling, cub are inside the villages,
so how could i meet people if they are stuck inside?
anyone knows where do they go for dinner, in which pub?
And especially in which club (diskotek) ? would love to meet boys but also girls

I saw your post and find it very humorous. Yea, the germans are hard to make friends with - but americans are much easy I'm american but too bad that i don't live in Mannheim (living in Stuttgart) - would like to have meet meet up with ya because I like frenchie people! If you're ever in Stuttgart, and wanna hang at a meet up with an american friend, let me know.

You could try the Irish pubs as a lot of us hang out there but seeing as you are French, you might get booted out. There are French people around here too - there is even a French school in Heidelberg.
