Bayern Ticket validity to Memmingen Airport

Hello all,
I'm really hoping someone can help me on this one. I'm on an Erasmus yr at Uni Würzburg and have two friends travelling with the wonderful Ryanair to Memmingen on Thursday. I went to the DB Reisezentrum this morning and was told that a Bayern ticket does not extend to Memmingen. Having seen this info on several forums I decided against buying another ticket until I knew for definite whether this was the case.

Anyone out there know for definite?

It is valid and is clearly mentioned in the DB website:

EDIT - Depends on the route you take from Memmingen to Wurzburg. Valid when you travel through Augsburg-Treuchtlingen-Ansbach-Wurzburg.

I took the non stop train back in Sept to and from Memmingen on Bayern ticket with no problem. The taxi ride to the airport is about 10 EUR but the Bayern ticket covers the bus from train station, if you have the time to wait.

There is also a bus that travels from Ostbahnof to the Memmingen airport directly for 18EUR. But this only a good deal when your traveling alone.

You just have to watch which route you take. This one for example is no problem (it's the opposite direction, but the routing is still relevant). Long journey though; Frankfurt or even Hahn would have been faster.
