Teach my daughter some dance moves - Berlin

Hi,

My daughter (8, almost 9) is really into dancing just for the fun of it, and I thought I might see if there was anyone out there interested in showing her a few moves. She doesn't want to do anything too structured or serious (like classical ballet) -- I guess the style she's interested in is music video / pop / modern / hip hop. She's currently drawing a lot of inspiration from Michael Jackson.

Note, she's only 8 so she doesn't need to be getting down and dirty MTV style just yet... but if you're a dance teacher (or even just a good dancer) you probably have some things up your sleeve you can share with her.

I'm happy for this to be a weekly thing, or a one-off, or casual, and of course, I'm happy to pay for your time. We live in Prenzlauer Berg, so you'd be welcome to come here, or of course we could come to you, bearing in mind she has school during the week. She speaks English and German.

She's a great kid who learns quickly, and you'll have her absolute undivided and rapturous attention, particularly if you can dance better than her father.

I am a trained dancer i studied at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds and graduated with a BPA Hons in Contemporary Dance. Yes! I have 15+ years experience in dancing ( jazz,tap, hip-hop, ballet,swing, salsa,). I grew up taking lessons from the Tina Marie School of Dance where I competed in the Competition and Show Teams for 7 years and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for hip-hop and tap. I also really like kids; I have been babysitting since I was a kid (13)! I like to teach dance in a fun, low-key way.

I love dancing, I could teach your daughter current dance moves, maybe even some *age appropriate* dancehall if she's so inclined. I've also taken west african dance and some modern.

I read your ad and hope that I´m not too late. I´m a dancer/teacher and I have plenty of experience working with kids, teaching dance and english. I come from Cape Town, South Africa and I have been living in Berlin for the most of the past 16 years. Apart fom my dancing and teaching work, I also do Berlitz English Kids Camps, where we spend a lot of time teaching, doing workshops and other activities with german kids, all in english. I have being dancing since I was 4 years old. Im now 22. I remember when I was young I just wanted to enjoy myself with dance, but group classes became competitive and the teachers pushy. This is not always the best environment for children. I have danced in a company previously and taught dance to children 7 years upward. I believe in freedom of expression and maximum enjoyment.
