Hello members of Toytown Munich,

I am a new member to the forum. I have noticed that most of the members are adults.
If there are any teens ( ages 16-18 ) whom people know of or who are members of the forum. It would be lovely to get to meet them.
As I, myself am a seventeen year old and I am willing to get to know some more English speaking teenagers.
Thanks. (:

Babx and deptford, it doesn't matter that you might be a little age-deficient for the 20-somethings. Its pretty much a "young TTers" thing. I was 19 when I got here this summer and went anyways, and I have a friend who is 18 who comes. So don't be shy and come join us one Thursday! We don't bite.

Sounds good, just wondering i am moving to a part of Munich called Unterschleissheim and wanted to know how far it is from the city center,I have never been to Germany (lived in Vienna as a child) and am used to the very direct layout of south london (bars, shopping centers, pubs, central london are all very easy to access by public transport). Any help would be of use as i am kind of jumping in the deep end

Unterschleissheim is about 35 minutes from city center using the S-bahn (above ground trains).
Deptford22
Cheers for that so i guess its not that central then lol

Its certainly a hassle sometimes, especially when you always have to leave the bars early enough to catch your last train home. I lived in Neufahrn over the summer, which is on the same line, but further out. Took me 45 minutes to city center any time I wanted to be social.

Wow i go out to a pub or restaurant 5 or 6 times a week so it might be difficult for me, do the trains not run for very late then? In england youle be lucky to get a train home after 12.30/1.
katekatekoala
That's about the last call for the S1 line, the one you're on.

no such thing as night busses in Germany i take it?
Babx
There are buses in Munich, but they can run at irregular times and they often stop running around 8pm.
There are also UBahns if you plan out staying later as some (not all) run as late as four a.m but usually only depart once every hour.

Deptford22, have you looked at [url=http://maps.google.de/maps?q=unterschleissheim+germany]Unterschleissheim on a map yet?

You'll note that it's not really IN Munich. Unterschleissheim is definitely out of town. Munich's subway system only goes about halfway out there. The local train (SBahn) does go once an hour all night.

There's an entire [url=http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/home/mvv_network/transportnetworkmaps/nightservices/index.html]night bus system within Munich though, running once an hour all night, after the majority of regular bus lines shut down at midnight or 1am.

Just as an example, your transportation options from the middle of Munich out to Unterschleissheim on a Sunday night look like this:

Thanks for that Babx and Gen it sounds like the transport system is a bit better than london where all trains and tubes stop running at 1/2 in the morning.

hi guys, im amanda and im 18; i just moved to passau, near munich and have no friends here yet hope i can meet some new people!
Gen
amanda00, you might want to start a thread in the Meetups in South Bavaria section -- [url=http://maps.google.de/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Passau&daddr=munich&hl=de&gl=de&mra=ls&sll=48.47812,12.522055&sspn=0.895795,2.469177&ie=UTF8&ll=48.480204,12.521667&spn=0.895763,2.469177&z=9]Passau is two hours by car from Munich, and three hours by train.

The [url=http://www.toytowngermany.com/xtra/maps/members.html]Members Map will show you which other people have registered their location as Passau. Bzw. Unterschleissheim, etc.
