The Time Traveler's Wife & A Christmas Carol

fuzzyhb
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 24th November.

We're reading The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, here's what Amazon says about it:
This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare and Henry who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry thirty. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. His disappearances are spontaneous and his experiences are alternately harrowing and amusing. The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's passionate love for each other with grace and humour. Their struggle to lead normal lives in the face of a force they can neither prevent nor control is intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

We're also reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, here's what Amazon says about it (as if anyone needs to be told):
Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserly old skinflint. He hates everyone, especially children. But at Christmas three ghosts come to visit him, scare him into mending his ways, and he finds, as he celebrates with Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and their family, that geniality brings its own reward.

Hey everyone! As Rich and I will be hosting this month's get together in our humble home, it'd be great if we could get a feel for how many people will be coming for catering purposes. Also, if you're not on the email list, you'll need to comment here so that I can message you the address.

Please feel free to bring a bottle of wine with you!
