Wertheim Village- Good Discounts?

I am interested in the Longchamp Outlet. Has anyone been there? What was the selection like and were the discounts good. I am interested in purchasing a couple of nice leather bags and some smaller accessories for Christmas gifts for family members.

I live about 3 hours away and am wondering if it is worth the time and cost of petrol to make the trip or just pay retail at a nearby store. Any thoughts?

I haven't been to Wertheim for a while. It is ok, generally hit and miss depending on what you are looking for.

If I had to travel for 3 hours I probably wouldn't bother unless you knew there was something you were definitely looking for.

For example I think Longchamp will be the same as the Mandarina Duck store, they don't seem to have the really good stuff, quite often the bags in limited colours that were introduced for a season.

The discounts are generally ok.

You can get good deals to get to Wertheim - e.g. Newcomers' Network are organising a trip there next week: http://www.newcomers-network.de/events/ , although it's "sold out". Not suprising as they were offering free transport and free lunch.

There are some good deals to be had there, particularly at the new René Lezard, which is open, but not finished.

The local house white in the Piazza restaurant was also very good!

If you go, check out the information centre at the start of your trip for more specials - we got free coffees and 10EUR back in vouchers for every 100EUR we spent. As we only spent a voucher I won at the Newcomers Festival, this all counted as a bit of a bargain!
