Probation period in new job

I have just received my contract for a job that I will start in January, and they talk about a 6 months probation period. Although I am yet to translate the contract fully, there does seem to be mention of salary within this probation section. Can anyone tell me if I should expect to be paid a 'probation salary'? Should I brace myself for a lower salary for the first 6 months??? I am a research scientist if that helps. Would appreciate any advice.

no you are just working on a trail period of 6 months normal over here but the pay should be the same as someone else doing the same work

And the pay does not change after the 6 months (under normal circumstances)
