I am a Firefighter and paramedic in Florida, US. I am going to school for nursing and working towards a degree in healthcare admin. My wife of one year is from Berlin and we are considering moving to Germany in a few years. It seems that there isn't much of a future for me in nursing as a Male. It doesn't even appear that nurses in Germany Perform the same level of care that we do in the US. Is this a correct assumption? I don't see any postings anywhere for Paramedics. Is this considered a Gov Job? How hard is it to gain employment in an Emergency Dept? From my initial research it seems I should initially try to get a job on a US military base, then maybe find a Hospital management or Admin job. Am I on the right track? Also , I am working very hard to learn the language. Any advice is appriciated!!

RNs get paid pretty well in the US. Why would you want to come to Germany (other than in a GS capacity)?????

My wife really wants to move back to be close to her family. I am willing to give it a try , but I want to make sure I can be gainfully employed.
