Hi,
I am looking for an English speaking play group in the west of Munich, preferably in Pasing, Laim or Obermenzing. My kids are nearly 3 (boy) and 4 1/2 (girl). They speak English at home, but are feeling more comfortable in German as they speak it with their father and go to local kindergarten and playgroups. I'd like to give them a chance to speak English to other kids so that they get the feeling that its a language not only Mama and Grandma use. Who knows of any playgroup in the area prefarably in the afternoons? Should there be other bilingual or English speaking families with kids of a similar age nearby I'd be happy to get to know you. Maybe we can meet up and form our own "playgroup".
Looking forward to many replies.

Hi,
I'm living in Laim and have found an English speaking playgroup at the Familienzentrum Laim. Unfortunately it is only for children age 0-3. My eldest boy is now three and a half and I would be delighted to find him a bilingual playmate his age living in the area. I am also keen to get him a bit more English influence as he is now speaking nearly only German. I don't know of any groups in the area for an older age group, but maybe we could meet and introduce the boys?

Hi!
I live in Bogenhausen and am also looking for more contact with English speaking kids for my daughter. She is 41/2 years old and attends a german kindergarten and complains of lack of English speaking kids there......it would be great if we could form a small Playgroup together:)

Hi, I'm living in Obermenzing and I'm a mother of 1,5 year old boy. Unfortunately "we" are to young for your playgroup . But I can recommend a FABI in Pasing which has an English meetings for children from 3 up.
Have fun!

Hi Zuz!
There is a group in Familienzentrum Laim every Tuesday from 14.30 to 16.00. It's from ages 0-3. It's very informal and a nice small group. We do a little singing and read a book to the kids, but it is mostly the mums sitting round and chatting! I like it
I'm there with my two boys (9 months and 3 1/2 yrs).
I like the thought of an older aged group too as most of the kids in the young group aren't even speaking yet so it doesn't give my older boy much of a chance to converse (which he needs now!)

HI Kiterunner & Rippe
I have a 5 year old daughter and we have only been in Munich for a few months. She too is attending a German kindy and I think struggling to make friends due to the language barrier - we are in Schwabing (so just across the park) it would be fun to meet up and see if the girls get along.
We have only a half day on Fridays (finish at 1pm) so maybe that would work?
