Ever used travel booking website Otel.com?

Or know ways I can verify if it is reputable?

So I am nearly ready to book a hotel for our Edinburgh trip after Christmas, and the best price I've found is on a website called Otel.com. I googled to see if there were any scam reports about this website, and on Trip Advisor and a few other places, people posted good reviews of the site, claiming it to be reputable.

The website it also VeriSign secured (as checked on the VeriSign website, not just the link on the otel.com website). And I checked the BBBonline website, and the site is not a BBB accredited business, but it does have a B+ rating, which is very good, with only a 4 complaints in the last 36 months, 3 of which were satisfactorily resolved.

I did find one post on Ripoff Report where someone was claiming it was a scam site, but to be honest, it just sounds like a disgruntled customer.

But before I (or Pas, rather ) entrusts Otel.com with his GBP 350, I was just wondering if anyone in TT Land has used the site before, and if they found it reliable.

Alternatively, if no one has used this website before, what are some other ways I could check if it is reputable?

I used this site once (last year), to book a hotel at Copenhagen - Denmark and had no problems. I was in the same situ, when I wanted to book that. So, I did a bit of research, found it okay and then booked it.

Cool, thanks fRe4k. We booked last night and I hope it all works out. The prices were very, very good, and unlike all the other cheapie websites, the price also includes a full Scottish breakfast for both of us.

Not entierly true. The price includes full scottish breakfast for me and anybody I can find who gets up before lunchtime.

The price of the hotel was the main reason why I booked through this site. Ultimately, it also depends on the hotel which registers to this site, to provide the services. The hotel I booked was good, but wasn't well organized. I went to the hotel, late in the night, but found that they had an automated check-in procedure. I'd to enter the details, check-in and get the key through that machine, but it wasn't working properly. I was scared that I'd to spend time on the streets as there were no other hotels open, but luckily, a security guard helped me and got the key. It's even worse in southern France, as the check-in time is before 9 PM and everything closes after that.

I'll jump in with a thumbs up for Otel too...used it fairly regularly for the past 5 years and only had 1 problem which was the hotel's fault, not Otel - in fact Otel helped me clear it up...

Their bonus point system is worth joining too..I've had a couple of free stays out of it...
