Must haves:
- VERY central, i.e. within stumbling distance to the best restaurants and pubs in town
- 4 star quality
- Internet access in rooms; preferably free, but would also be okay for something like a GBP 20 surcharge for a week (not however, the 5 pounds an HOUR I was quoted at my first-pick hotel)
- Absolutely MUST have a reputation for being spotlessly clean; I cannot tolerate mold in the bathroom or dirty, dingy carpets
Like to haves:
- Relatively quiet, although I realize I am asking a lot for a quiet hotel in the city centre
- Indoor pool/sauna/leisure area would be nice
- Nice telly with more than Freeview would be great
Generally, I like upscale chains since they are fairly reliable for quality and cleanliness. But I am not opposed to boutique hotels if they are really, really clean and not musty and tired.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
