Hi Everyone,
Just moved to Mannheim over a week ago, and unfortunatly despite me and Girlfriend looking for information on this subject we are unable to find anything.
Is it normal that the heating in Mannheim seems to turn on and off on its own free will? I know its run from Fernwärme, but this is a bit of a joke currently. Have not had heating for close too 12 hours now and its freezing in here. Not the first time it happened since we are here either. Is this normal?
Would normally ask the landlord but she seems too have perfected the art of been ignorant, so im trying a different source.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Tim.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply with the useful link in. From that I see that this situation is not normal. Didnt think it could be, but didnt want to start twisting the panties before I'd checked it out.
Will now try and tackle Mrs Unhelpful regarding the situation.
Regards
Tim

I probably think differently from you Tim because I'm a woman but my usual solution is: "ask a bloke". A neighbour or someone will probably know if there's some switch you are not turning or whatever, or some procedure you need to do. If it's an apartment block, try the managing agent. Aspects might depend on just the set up. In one block I lived in, the central heating went off at about 10. I had no control over it overnight.

I know its run from Fernwärme, but this is a bit of a joke currently.
My Fernwärme coming from the same plant has worked perfectly in the last 18 months without any interruptions by the supplier. Definitely not a problem on that end.
