Small, nice, cosy nightclubs with cheesy music

Some recommendations

A lot of us like the "Alte Gallerie" because it is small and "intimate", great service good music, well priced etc.
I was wondering if there are more of these kind of clubs which don't have the usual Teens and "hip youngsters" in it but are nice and you can just have a great time there. No schickimicki, not dodgy.

So by 'good' music, you mean 70's and 80's cheese?!?? Oxymoron isn't it! tongue.gif

Have you tried the new Americanos city? Its in the old Erste Liga. Havn't been there, but it might be what you're after.

lol. No trendy people there at all.
bubblylady
Registratur is not what we are looking for, it is quite big after all and I have been there and they didn't play any cheese. Actually I have been there and there were only these anti trendy ppl who were to cool to be trendy, didn't like it...
But I've only been once and that is just my very personal opinion...
Cheese like Elvis, Saturday night fever, Tom Jones (girly stuff) etc.
Don't know Erste Liga but Zweite Heimat and I hated it, not only that the ppl there were the seen and being seen stuck up but I'm soooo cool ppl, prices were quite high for lousy quality and a coked up owner... No, not my cup of tea.
Alte Gallerie has a bit of a cosy living room charakter, where the bar men look after you (without hitting on you) and you can leave your handbag at the cloak room and they take care of it...
grtho
Registratur is usually fully of skanky aquaintances of mine who got turned away from Funky Kitchen or find it too high class! laugh.gif

Depending on the size of your group, who is in it and your attitude you might have fun in some of the smaller gay clubs around the Müllerstr.
Keydeck
I liked Palais on Arnulfstr. Been there for the Robert Wittl nights and had a very good time.
bubblylady
well, i didn't say i do not want high class, I just dont like to be surronded by 1) schickimicki 2) cooool ppl 3) dodgy ppl 4) ppl who are too stoned/coked up/ on E etc. Just looking for a place where normal ppl, those who do not fit in any of the above mentioned categories would like to have fun. Dance like lunatic and do not have to be afraid of 1) not to fit in 2) get ripped off 3) get involved in a fight etc. I am kind of looking for a club who you will be a local very quickly and just feel very comfortable. A place which is small enough to find everybody without looking around for an hour... A yeah, another point is too loud music. Music is great but if you are not able to understand the person right next to you anymore it's not much fun...
roots
you all should check out Penthouse

Hey it's great you've managed to classify all people enjoying the current Munich nightlife into 4 categories having all in common that they're not normal. Do you consider yourself normal having one million rules when going out to enjoy? Maybe you need to put some things in order inside your head and get rid of all these filters so you might be able to have fun no mater if the music playing is loud or the guys around are too cool for you.
boomtown_rat
my living room is quite small and cosy and I've got a CD player, and I'm certainly not cool (or dodgy) so I can probably arrange something - pay at the door.
brokenm
I would recommend Josephs on Klenzestr. It is small, cool to hang out in, but unfortunately the music is good, as they have a small DJ booth with someone usually spinning.
grtho
Where be that ? Very local to me but I've never heard of it.
Showem
BubblyLady, what you are describing is a house party. At someone's house. I'd take Boomtown Rat's offer.
brokenm
It is great. The best way I can describe the directions is the route that I walk there. I take Hans-Sachs down to where Götterspeisse is and I turn left there on Westermühlstr. and take the quick right on Klenzestr, I think across from Maria's. Kepp walking down the Klenzestr. and it will be on your left. It is small, cozy most seats being on counches. I just found the link on Toytown, but I think the descritpion is lacking...Josef's
grtho
That's VERY local for me and since one of my two regular boozers has closed sad.gif and I'm seemingly part of the furniture in the other now unsure.gif I might go check it out tonight! cool.gif
bubblylady
I guess I am not very good in explaining things.
Those who know Alte Gallerie will know what I mean...
Kat
Well, Josef's does sound like what we were talking about the other night. We should give it a peek.

As I said, the new americanos is in the OLD Erste Liga, that means that its not erste liga anymore! Americanos has a branch in Kultfabrik, playing rnb and chart hits etc. So now they have a club in the middle of the city trying to get the afterwork crowd. The venue is very small and cosy, so it could be the sort of thing you are after?

Please forgive my blatant act of self promotion.

I know of a place with 2 bars, each with a differnt vibe, a chill out area with rocking chairs and a library. Four seating areas to chose from depending on your mood.

PM me for details.
Hazza
I think Bubblylady is looking for somewhere with a dancefloor too...

can you be a bit more specific?
TexasTornado
Thanks Hazza, I will inform the people dancing that we don't have a dance floor and tell them to stop it!
