Dollar travelers cheques

Hi everyone,

Might sound complicated but it isn’t: I have some US dollars to spend and would like to spend them in Australia, so have to convert them to Australian dollars, somehow…. How can I do that with minimal loss? Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase American dollar travelers cheques in Munich? Or is it only possible to buy Euro travelers cheques in Germany?

Do it in Australia. If you do it here, you will be charged to covert them to Euros, and then charged again to change them into Australian dollars. Take them with you and change them at the airport you land in Australia.

PES' advice is probably the best, but if you decide not to take that route, yes, you can get travellers cheques in US dollars. You need to order them in advance though.
