-Rick Mercer (22 Minutes was fantastic in it’s prime)
-Newfoundland Dogs (not sure how authentically Newfoundland their development was… but isn’t the name enough?)
-A place to escape the dreaded “,eh? traded in for the local “yes b’ye

Yes, Winnie the Pooh is Canadian! A. A Milne the author was British, but the idea for the Bear came from Canada- it was a mascot of a Canadian Military Battalion stationed in England, the London Zoo adopted the small bear during one of the Wars (cannot quote an exact date at the moment), and this bear's home was Winnipeg Canada! So, Winnie the Pooh came out of that! I am from Winnipeg, and we are super proud of this fact! There is a special part of the zoo for named after him, and there are Winnie the Poohs everywhere.

Love the way you aim it at me and ignore the others. Got a problem there Carm?
A A Milne was an Englishman born on Scottish soil. The books were written by him, the character created by him. Hundred Acre wood is in the Ashdown forest in Sussex.
How you can possibly try and claim it as Canadian I'll never know. Talk about grasping at straws.

In that case we had better stop taking the credit for Paddington Bear. Clearly the Peruvians should have that honour.

Now about Shakespeare,
OK now I admit it. Its about bloody time that us Brits stopped taking the credit for Romeo and Juliet.
Italy we are sorry.

Was Christopher Robin Canadian too?
Don't tell me, Milne's wife once looked at a Canadian while she was pregnant with him.

What about Kanga, now I think you could at least do the decent thing and share the honour with the Australians.

And you can be as "Super Proud" as you want, Winnie the Pooh is an English creation.
