Hi
I'm off to Berlin instead this weekend so you'll all be spared the sight of me in a rah-rah skirt (bet you're all gutted now).
Have a skills on wheels party though!

You should go as Madonna obv. BG! You'd need some serious scrunch drying though!

H&M has a lot of 80s gear in their ex-Gap store.

big lace bow in poofed up hair, lace gloves and babydoll socks worn with pumps (white if you have them) and a miniskirt to match. spray bangs into a "claw". shoulder pads.

I dunno. It's days like these that make me wish I kept all those neon shirts and stirrup pants
I am thinking that 80's hair might just be enough for me.

May 4 2005, 10:52 am
Ew, Blimeygirl, don't remind me about stirrup pants! They've got to be high up on the list of greatest public fashion blunders.

May 4 2005, 10:56 am
Yeah it was pretty bad man. Of course I knew people that wore them with cowboy boots (yes there was a cowboy boot phase in my area around 1989 or so) and sometimes even over the bottom of the boot. Talk about blunder.
And I just realized that my hair straightener has a crimper attachment. Hair might possibly be sorted.
Anyone remember this fine lady?

It's all in the accessories. Take a peechee folder and a rubik's cube. I have an old sony walkman you can borrow, if you like.

Sadly yes. And I just bought it last year. It is actually a hair straightener with attachments. Why they felt the need to include a crimper attachment I will never know.

I expect to see your hair crimped and in a side ponytail then!

I can't go to this but could somebody please do a legwarmers and fingerless gloves count for me ? Thank you.
Hmm no idea what I can wear, my mum dresses me now pretty much the same as she did in the 80s. All I can remember were some tight brown shorts called "stubbies", and a t-shirt with a truck and "keep on truckin" written on it. Doubt they fit me anymore though.

all right. but only if you wear it in a ponytail, on the side, with either a scrunchie or a lace bow.
everyone must be wearing something neon.
If only I still lived with my olds I would be set. Seriously where do you guys get 80s gear from? I mean most of you are somewhere else than where you were in the 80s, so arent really likely to have old 80s gear lying around are you? Fuck all op shops here too.
Had similar problems over fasching actually.

80s are coming back into style Kza, so H&M would be a good bet for 80s gear.
Hmm... I'm gonna have a hard time pulling off any 80's hairdo's

, however, I still have some hope for a totally radical getup.
Any ideas for me peeps?

How about pegged jeans, Converse high tops and a polo shirt with a denim jacket?
Courduroy OP shorts, a regular t-shirt and a pink Members Only jacket?
T-shirt with a blazer Miami Vice style?

Girls, I need help! I really want to do the tank top with the off the shoulder over it, but the only thing I have that I can possibly wear off the shoulder would be too hot. Does anyone have a relatively thin, baggy shirt with a huge neck (preferably solid color that goes ok with beige, peach and/or wine-ish purple...black would be perfect)?
@KM - They were definitely 70s in my book.
Sounds great but I'm torn between this or going on the hike! Don't think my legs are up to hiking AND dancing on the same day, not as young as I was

You're kidding me arent you?
Well answer the following questions -
1) Can I win prizes on the Hike?
No, but you can at the 80's party.
2) Will I hear Wake me up before you go-go on the Hike?
No, but you will at the 80's party.
3) Will there be free sweets on the hike?
No, but there will at the 80's party.
4) Should I go to the hike or the Party?
PARTY!!! PARTY!!! PARTY!!!
@Perdido - Go to your party, stay an hour and make your excuses and come over to the TB.
