Which electrical store has better service?

Conrad or Saturn ...or another?

Right then,

Yesterday we were in the OEZ in the above two shops.

Saturn is now very well set up, has a Tiefgrage and lift so you can land from car park underneath right in the store. The people are usually very friendly and helpful. It is often full.

Conrad on the other hand, is usually empty, has sullen staff who don't seem to give s hit about the customers and is difficult in comparison to Saturn to get into with a child. You have to walk to the far end of the store with the little one in a trolly to get upstairs.

Und?

We had friendly and knowledgable staff at Mediamarkt in Europark (especially the washing machine woman)

Problem with Saturn is that getting hold of an employee to help you can be quite difficult sometimes. There are so many people looking for help and once they have someone they tend to hang on to them for ages asking every question they can think of.
Plus the staff in Saturn aren't all that knowledgeable. Most are kids or students doing it as part time work without much experience of the items they are selling.

Sleepless is spot on, Saturn staff try to help but their problem is that people come in with every report printed off the internet known to man and most of the customers know the product better than they do.
And everyone is pushing for a discount.
Saturn Theresienhöhe at off peak times can be good.
At Conrad, people tend to go in for a specific product only and I got my washing machine at MediaMarkt as well (the model was just cheaper there).

Conrad is definitely more specialist then Saturn and Media Markt. You can pick up a lot of really quality, unusual stuff in Conrad and its more for the tech professional than for people buying washing machines and the like.

Everyone has their own experiences - often nightmares - with the service in these places. For me, Mediamarkt at Leuchtenbergring gives the term 'poor service' a whole new dimension. And they *never* let me down - I actually think they're gettiing worse, which is quite a feat. blink.gif

Of course you often have to rubgy-tackle a member of staff in Saturn to get some help (though usually only on a Saturday) but I've found them, for the most part, helpful and knowledgeable.

The small local shops (for local people) are normally much better. They can also match the big boy's prices, plus you get a better service. We're just investigating buying a big Kenwood mixer, and the local shop can match any deal by Saturn or Kustermann. The spotty urchins in Saturn haven't got a f**kin' clue what a Kenwood is for.

I found the staff in NetonNet to be quite good whenever we have been there.

Real Electro Geeks goto Hartnagels on Shiller Str.

It's like Radio shack on steroids, ever Capacitors,Transistor,Buzzer,LED
known to man, and very cheap... Last time I saw a package of 5 CAT5 plugs (Not Shielded or or with the protector) in conrad, 5 for 4,99 Eur

Everybody in the world usually sells the plain ones for .10/.20 each
with .30/.40/.50 for the shielded ones with the colored plastic covers.

These Conrad guys are on crack... Everything I saw was waaayyy over priced. (At least the on on Tal)

They're the electronic shop or electronics store as far as little bits are concerned. Guy speaks English and collects stamps -- I know because he sorts through them during working hours while you wait for him to deign to notice you. But hey, they're nice stamps, and they have everything.
