Hello
I am slowly getting familiar with the german administration/system and amongst other with the papers and proofs required by landlords when applying for renting a flat in Berlin.
Beside the last 3 months pay checks, as I am sure you know, they ask for the SCHUFA , which I understand is the proof that the potential / applying tenant has a clean debits record.
I was wondering though: since I have been in germany for not so long (just 4 months) , would I provide the SCHUFA for Germany or for the country I am moving from? Do I get the SCHUFA via the Internet? Any advice, tip on the topic would be very much appreciated. thanks!

I recently helped some friends in a similar situation. The landlord wants Schufa, you give them Schufa. They will confirm that there are no dings on your record (even if you don't have one) and it's all good.
You want to order the one from

Hi Gabi,
We went through all the hassle of getting the Schufa paperwork only to be told by the letting agent that they would still not rent to us as we had no German history.
A lot of landlords want to know that you have worked for at least one year in the previous two years.
Then if you default on the rent, the state pay your rent for you.
Private landlords are a bit more lenient, shop around.
