Austrian businessman Franzkarl Schwendinger opened The Scotch Club in Aachen. He hired someone to play some records for entertainment, but drunken Heinrich got up and took over with some witty banter.
Apparently he coined the 'discotheque' phrase too.

Funny, I was accosted by a highly-drunk German in the pub last night who proudly told me that the world's first DJ came from Germany. He had obviously been reading the Spiegel before he started drinking.
