EssenExpo2010.info - European Capital of Culture

New English language guide to the event

efehrenbach
Greetings TT,

I have recently launched a new website at EssenExpo2010.info to serve as an English language information portal and visitor guide to Essen, Cologne, Düsseldorf and other major cities of the Ruhrgebiet area of Germany.

Essen and the Ruhrgebiet area have been designated the [font="Tahoma">[color="#0000ff">"European Capital of Culture" [/font]for 2010 by the European Union. The selected city hosts this most significant exposition for a period of one calendar year during which it is given a chance to showcase its cultural life and development.

While the official state and city websites provide information regarding the event, as of October 2009, this information is only presented in the German language. Recognizing the need for an English language version, EssenExpo2010.info, affiliated websites and sponsors are proud to offer an independent, accurate and helpful guide to support English-Speaking visitors planning to attend the event.

Although some parts of the website are under construction, we are constantly adding new events, photos, businesses and articles and features to the guide.

We sincerely hope you find our website informative, and welcome any feedback or suggestions.

As far as I remember, the "Ruhrgebiet" used to be known as "the Ruhr" in English.

Wolf, thanks for the input. This will be changed to, "The Ruhr Area"
We don't want to confuse anyone ;-)
