Hi
UK Germany World Cup Workshop
QUOTE
If England (and perhaps* other British teams) qualify for the World Cup Finals, there will be a huge influx of British fans, perhaps over 100,000. How can we ensure that the fans have a great time, make friends and return home with positive memories of Germany? Can we encourage contacts and bridge-buiding in order to create a positive atmosphere amongst the fans next June? Can we harness the two countries' shared passion for football to build bridges between our countries?

Translation:
How can we get the British to stop mentioning the war and get them not to pillage our nice country, shag all our women and drink all our beer?
No chance. wink.gif

Next year is going to be one buggery nightmare if England come to Munich.

I am hoping beyond all hope that we don't get England or the Netherlands. Sorry I know that it is mean but there you go.
Leipzig will be a bundle of laughs for whoever gets there.

its a shame the Germans go to so much trouble to be constructive but you know in the end its going to end up the same way as it always does.

I hope that the dibble just let them get on with it if the Neo-Nazis want it off our boys or the cloggie hard-nuts. Kill two birds with one stone as it were.

Just on the radio, big street battles bewteen A'dam and Rotterdam fans at the weekend. Apparently they had a go at the Politie too.

Already sent reverberations down to Germany with regard to WM06 and there's talk of no drinking zones.

what's new?
always fun and games with ajax and feyenoord.
these mobs don't travel away with holland in anycase. one to watch are ado den haag.
was in porto for germany - holland last em and it was a farce. bought extra roles of film for the action and there was none.

aqua is right, holland mostly has trouble with club hooligans, but they don't typically follow the national side. a constant source of disappointment to german and english hardcases when they play holland.

they will do what they have done the last two world cups (maybe 3): a country will play games at various cities, rather than be "based" in one particular place. this shares the joy of hosting brasil, scotland, england whoever.

if england come to munich, there will be no more trouble than in 2001. surely its italy that you don't want coming to town, with their current form of mayhem? (although, as with the dutch, i don't think they are the fans who typically follow the national side).

ps: was an interesting docu on BBC2 last night about heysel. anyone else see it?

true. less in fact. more banning orders will be dished out and the england away support more like the twickers rugby crowd these days.
if england are in hamburg or berlin you might see some fireworks but munich no. not enough locals or immigrants to cause bother in munich.

i do hope the kathy burkes qualify

Only if they leave the knives at home and fight like men.
