Them Crooked Vultures: a so-called "supergroup" - Munich

Sunday 06.Dec.2009 @ Zenith, tickets €44.95

GabIng
So I bought my ticket for this today.

The band consists of

Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana)
Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss)
John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)

Info for the band here or here.

Tickets via Internet here.

I bought mine from the ticket-place in Stachus for 44.95 €.

If there are people interested maybe we could arrange meeting and going together.

I've already got a ticket for this and would be interested in meeting beforehand

Saw them at Reading and thought they were great. Am on hols for this but would have gone even when it is a tad on the pricey side.

I'd love to goto this...but why oh why at Zenith??? Hmm...

Tickets are still available through München Ticket

Is there any decent concert venue in Munich?
Like one where you can actually see the stage if you arent 6 foot tall, and even then there'll be a beam or something blocking your view.

Still, I'll probably go to this seeing as its a once off. Just to hear the music mind. I have no hope or expectation of actually seeing the band at the concert.

Muffathalle, Theaterfabrik, Cord, Backstage (Werk & Halle) - no pillars
59:1, Atomic Cafe, Tonhalle - pillars but pretty decent venues

not really got complaints about any of those. not been to Zenith but it does seem to have a bad reputation (and it's in the middle of nowhere)

I concur with Muffathalle and Backstage Werk, especially the latter...great venue. I'm going to Theaterfabrik tomorrow for the first time (for Dredg)...how does it compare in size to Tonhalle and Muffathalle (where I've been previously)...apparently Georg-Elser-Halle was awesome but I've never seen a gig there..

But yeah..Zenith..huge factory..that's really about it...awful sound, and yeah unless you're up front there's probably not much of a point..

Theaterfabrik seems a bit smaller than Tonhalle, perhaps slightly larger than Muffathalle but probably about the same size. Has a low ceiling, unlike Muffathalle and the bars appear to be crap
Farbenfabrik
Also the Ampere next to the Muffathalle is a great smaller-sized venue. Easy bar access, no obstructed views of the band and even better, I can walk there in ten minutes.

No matter where they play, this is going to be madness. Currently I am doing this Hans (solo). So would be keen to meet before if I can't drag some buddies along. From memory there are close to no bars that would be open up that way - there is the shitty beer stand out the front for those in the lines, but the prices are criminal and they have deposit on the cups... If anyone knows of a bar up around there then that would be cool, or we could meet arounf Münchner Freiheit grab a beer or 8 and then head up there on the U6.

cheers,
jarrod
