Female cleaners in the men's room at a gym - Munich

Now I've been to a fair few gyms in my time and usually the changing rooms are a bit of 'haven'. Where men can be men, where your shame need not be hidden. Alas, the rules seem to be different here.

As I've experienced for the fourth time this evening, I have had the dubious pleasure of a female cleaner (usually of a Chinese descent) clean around me whilst I'm more or less naked. This was a relatively new experience for me, but I was struck by the splendid indifference of others. Either people just don't want to mention it or they're just used it.

Either way, this blatent display of liberalism on the gym's part is certainly an adjustment for me. Having a female cleaner (or any female) in a male changing room in Belfast, would go down a storm!

Further to this, I'm informed the saunas are a 'butt-naked' only affair.

I'm afraid I'll be leaving my speedos on thanks.

Its just how the culture is here. Either adjust to it, or spend the rest of your time here being a whiner that people will get tired of.

I was merely making an observation where I tried to inject a little humour, so I apologize that you misconstrude it to appear as whining. Indeed I shall adjust - necessity requires it.

I felt the need to respond to your message to say that I also don't think you were whining. The person who posted such a response to the contrary was unnecessarily terse and it begs the question why they should bother to respond at all if they cannot offer something helpful or at least constructive.

Personally, I can understand your reservations and if it were a male cleaner in a female changing area, I feel sure that I, and a lot of women would have something to say! I would be inclined to speak to the Manager.

Admittedly I was a bit suprised by his/her reaction as I felt the tone of my topic was leaning a little toward humour if anything else! But clearly, the possibility to hit a few nerves on forums is ever rife.

I hadn't actually thought of the corollary scenario to this till Buffy brought it up, but I imagine cleaning female changing rooms isn't on a the men's cleaners job descriptions!

Get used to the fact that you look worse in your speedos than you do butt naked. Those cleaning ladies don't give a shit about your tally-wacker. More or less, you are pretty much in their way.
