Bestiality!! A married man has a secret, he is having sex and is deeply in love with a GOAT! Provocative as ever, Albee's play, The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia? is an audacious and controversial play that has entertained and shocked audiences and critics, alike.

The winner of the 2002 Tony Award for Best Play, THE GOAT was also voted Best Play of 2002 by the New York Drama Critics Circle and received a New York Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play.

A man at the pinnacle of his glittering career and marriage is in love with a goat. Who can he tell... his wife, his son or best friend. Would they understand? Can they accept this new love or indeed could anyone of us understand?

How far can a man fall when there is the perception that he has it all. What does he risk for this ''love'', his family, his friendship, his career, his life?

“WHAT IF a man were having an affair with a goat? WHAT would happen?” and the “what would happen” is of far greater interest than the affair itself”. Edward Albee

A tragic-comedy, with a bizarre theme, which takes us on a rollercoaster of human emotions. It is an epic piece of our time acted out in a family home. Where the actions and decisions a husband and father makes affects the lives of all of them and hopefully our encounter with these lives fulfills Albee's wish for the play to provoke people into thinking afresh about whether or not the values they hold are valid.

If you're interested in a fascinating take on truly unusual subject matter, Albee's your man. Does anyone handle it better?
''The Goat'' is about a profoundly unsettling subject, which for the record is not bestiality but the irrational, confounding and convention-thwarting nature of love.
The form this force takes in ''The Goat'' is beyond a joke.

We prefer to call it "interspecies erotica"...

ah, the costume mistress with the wildly spelt surname (de Hauteclocque) would be thrilled to know that English speakers here are open to having their minds invigorated by a most interesting play! It will be well worth it. Come and share it with us.

Question:
Have you ever felt an incredible connection to someone? Like when you met, it just felt so effortless and so natural, you got tingles of excitement, just being in their company made you feel really good, you felt deeply connected to this, you felt love.
Well, imagine this happened between you and a GOAT. An animal. Just put aside your judging and preconceptions and really try to imagine that. That would be pretty fucked up no? And what would you do? You love this goat but society won't allow you to form a relationship with it so you have a dilemma, do you accept or reject this incredible connection? do you go for love, bring it into your life, or do you shy away from it, and live in the darkness, always wondering..?
This is exactly what happens to Martin, the main character in the play, The Goat. He, being a liberated man, chooses love and has to live with the consequences. This play is a) funny (i mean, goat fucking is a pretty funny topic) challenging (think about your boundaries reading this, do you just think 'bullshit, its a goat!' is it possible you don't understand? are you the kind of person who wants to challenge your beliefs?) and c) fascinating.
Take the chance to come and see what you can learn. guaranteed entertainment.
