Saturday Day trip to Husum - Hamburg

I will be going on a day trip to Husum on Saturday Oct. 17th (tomorrow). There are 2-3 spaces left on my ticket (it can accomodate up to 5 people). We will be leaving on the 8:33am train from Altona station and returning around 9:30pm (return time is negotiable, we may also visit another city if we have time). We will be meeting at 8:10am at the entrance of Gleis 8 at Altona station (this is where the train leaves from). With 5 people the ticket will cost 5.50 Euro each. Slight change in plan. We will be leaving at 9:10am, meeting at 8:50am in front of Gleis 9 (NOT 8!!)

We drive to Husum a few times each year as my wife's parents live in the village just to the North (he was the police chief of Husum when he retired 20+ years ago).

Don't whatever you do eat in the large "Glasskasten" restaurent on the harbour next to the rail bridge - it can be a disaster. Unfortunately the fish restaurent on the outer harbour (Voss) changed hands last year & also went downhill.

During the week (& maybe at weekend?) the restaurent at top floor of C.J Schmidt offers a reasonable Stammessen...

thank you for posting! I would have loved to go today but cannot - but please post if you are looking for others to travel with in the future.
