TT gets a minor facelift

New horizontal menu bar at the top

Pages: 1 2 3
Editor Bob
TT is currently getting a minor facelift.

The general idea is that all pages should have roughly the same layout.

For the past few years there have always been two layouts: One for the forum, and one for the other pages (e.g. wiki, restaurant pages, front page). The new layout aims to rectify that. The most noticeable change is the new horizontal menu bar across the top.

If there are any luddites reading, you can switch back to the old forum design by scrolling to the very bottom of any forum page and selecting "Classic" from the drop-down menu in the left-hand corner. See diagram below.

Not all pages throughout the site have been updated yet, but they will be in the coming days.

As usual, if you spot any errors, or have suggestions for improvement, make them here.

If we hit "classic" does it reverberate to pre-2006? I await your reprimand......

It changed as I was hopping between sites - I thought I'd ended up somewhere else.

Prefer the "Classic" look thanks.

I find it irritating. I'm on "Classic".

I think that"Classic" button is going to get worn out with overuse!

I like having Today's topics and My new posts on the right. It's classic for me.

Yep - back to classic. Just because I'm right handed and it's more convenient with mouse movement. I need to get a life, tbh.

I am a classic kinda guy.

I felt I was in the "twilight Zone" for a second. Had to put my beer down and analyze. Classic please Rod Serling.

A west coast right winger? No wonder you left California.

Let us give Editor Bob his due. He has had some great ideas in the past as well as some we all hope to forget.

Hey, he allows us to switch to the view we like and the switch was like magic. That is one cool Bob. He might be your uncle.

For those right-handed new post clickers, try switching your mouse to the left. It'll do wonders for your RSI.

I hope he is not your uncle, then I would have a few words I want to say to him.

Whatever it ends up as I will adjust. Thanks for all the hard work and detail you put into this site Ed Bob. But I prefer classic.
PES
I prefer classic. To have the update button on the right side seems more practical.

I stayed with Classic too, mainly because "Today's topics" and "My new posts" are in bold. So that's something I would change in the new layout, make those two stand out a bit, since they are probably the ones that people hit the most.
