For our team in Munich we are looking for a

Quality Engineer – Platform and Life Sciences Applications (m/f)
Definiens is seeking a high calibre individual to join our research and development team developing the worlds most advanced image analysis technologies. You will be responsible for all aspects of design, development and execution of testing scenarios including the development of specific algorithmic test cases for new image analysis techniques for our platform products and Life Sciences applications.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute efficient and scalable testing strategies to ensure the quality of Definiens products meets our customer’s high expectations.
  • Provide management with release metrics that substantiate release decisions.
  • Plan, develop and execute manual and automated testing procedures including algorithmic, workflow and GRID processing functionality
  • Keep effective records of QA plans and work within our ISO9001 quality management system
  • Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of all aspects of the platform functionality


Qualifications and Skills



  • Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • 3+ years work experience in Quality Assurance or Development capacity dealing with scientifically orientated products that have client server architectures.
  • ISTQB Certification would be desirable
  • Knowledge of image based or image analysis or applications in Geo or Healthcare arenas would be desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (German language desirable)
  • A working knowledge of a modern programming or scripting language
  • Advanced troubleshooting and deductive reasoning skills
  • High level of self motivation and a good attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small company environment with iterative development methodology
