First snow of winter 2009/10 in Munich

Latest forecast that I have says snow on Thu, Fri & Sat...

Just got back from the supermarket, it feels cold enough outside for snow.

Spoke too soon, the forecast just changed to rain/snow for today...

Did anyone else notice that?

A light snow shower in Schwabing just now.

It only lasted about three minutes. It was definitely snow though! I stood on my balcony and caught a few flakes.

Cat was saying yesterday that it smelled cold. You know, that crinkly, ozon-laden sensation that warns you about coming snowstorms.

Just got snowed on at Sendlinger Tor. Not happy about it. Why, oh why did I ever leave California?

Was at the hostel where I work last night, showing some aussie girlfriends where I work, when all of a sudden, my collegue and I see outside white flakes coming down. Living in Germany our immediate reaction was 'shit', on the other hand my aussie girls and many of the aussie guests all ran outside and were overjoyed to see snow. It was tremendous to watch.

I retract what I just posted - it's starting to fall lightly.

Its been snowing in Neuhausen and Hackerbrücke for at least an hour, but it's not settling.

It must be settling somewhere though, because there were several cars driving around the city this morning with a good few inches of snow on top.

I am sad now that I moved out of Munich... here in the Rhine-Neckar area, there is no snow. Only ice on the windshields this morning.

Drove to work in a "blizzard". It was cool, but only lasted about 0.5km.
