Pillows in Munich

Where to buy reasonably priced pillows?

alexdodo
Ok so today I set off on a small mission to buy 2 nice comfy pillows to replace the horrid things I was given with my apartment.

<Rant>

I went to OEZ and was faced with Karstadt and Kaufhof.

For a reasonable pillow the price was pretty much €100.

What the hell, who pays €100 for a pillow?

Kopfkissen??? I want a hell of a lot more kissed than my head on a night for €100.

</Rant>

I feel better for that. So where does one buy decent pillows in Munich for a decent price?

You could try IKEA? Tchibo also sells one at the moment, though it's not available online anymore, maybe a store still sells it?

Karstadt usually has some heavily discounted bedding stuff now and then, if not in October then in November. Not sure about the OEZ, but the Neuhauser Strasse shop has it right at the entrance level when available. Discounts of 30 to 60% are usual, that's the time to buy what you expect to need.

Woolworths in the OEZ

XXL Lutz have some between 20-50yoyos. It is a bugbear of mine too - plus they don't do proper 80x40 unless you look very carefully.

Maybe the English Shop should consider them for import

You can't buy a decent pillow in Germany. I went to John Lewis in UK

Aldi had bedding stuff on special offer last week ... ;-)

I dunno if you're still looking but theres this Einkaufzentrum (shopping place) at the Euro Industriepark.... thats the Kniefergarten or Freimann stop on the U6.

Theres a bus from there to the shopping area.. (its also where the Deichmanns at).

Was there recently and saw a bunch of students carrying back pillows and blankets and stuff so I'm pretty sure its cheap.

hope it helps.

Concord Matratzen sell bedding, they have branches in several places.

Real also sells bedding (2 shops in the Euro Industrie Park) If you have a pass for METRO I have also found reasonably priced stuff there (totally agree with you on the price of bedding (sheets pillows etc) being exceptionally high. I stocked up last time I was back in the UK! :-)

The question is also, where do you find a proper pillow shaped pillow, not some giant bag that deflates down to mattress level as soon as you stick your head onto it, or some sort of peanut shaped "ergonomic" nightmare that will leave you, quite literally, speechless in the morning. Yes, I'm talking about you, IKEA.

The best pillows I ever bought came from M and S. Now I have a house full of rubbish ones, flat or lumpy, bought in different places, and I am just going to order four good M and S anti allergenic ones and pick them up on our next trip over. But M and S does deliver to Germany.

I bought a 80x40 one from Galeria Kaufhof... for 50€, it's actually a good one and I like it, but it's way too expensive.
