Last night, after taking a wrong turn and walking for what seemed like forever, I finally found The Arc with every intention of watching the Flames destroy the Edmonton Oilers. Entering, I received an enthusiastic greeting from some totally intoxicated, ever-friendly Aussies and was asked for my name.

They were probably the left overs of my Aussie Rules football team. We all came back from a game in Hamburg!! Some had been drinking since the game ended on Saturday afternoon!!!

@Hazza:

I never realized that you had to drag your a$$ outta bed for that... thanks a ton. On the bright side, the leafs games this weekend are on around midnight, so no 7:30am crap to deal with...

To my disappointment, I've not yet persuaded many in town of the appeal of the sport, so I can't really guarantee much in the way of attendance sad.gif
Hazza
Midnight's fine for taping - in a bar, that's a reasonable hour...
canuck
I'll be there to watch it...

the last time i showed the hockey games on i had it on the beamer and that was for only the one guy- so if it aint busy or u have alot of hockey people it can be on the large screen, if not we can usually put it on the big screen. but for the recording of last weeks leafs game only ONE came down towatch it all and another came in later and i just showed him the last period!! rolleyes.gif but let us know at the arc and we can hstill help u out with the games.

You need to show more Caps games if you want to get the crowds to come down. tongue.gif

I'll be along to watch hockey too!!! I miss it! Actually stood and watched the Munich team practise after work the other night...
Sooo not the same sad.gif I think my brothers Jr. C team was better. Uh!

Anyway, I've just had visitors in town for the last 3 weeks/weekends in a row... but I'll be out. biggrin.gif When's the next one? Sunday??
Hazza
Saturday night - late I advertised a game.

There are other games before that, but I'm not sure how many people can watch games that end at 3:30am on a Wednesday-Thursday. So I didn't advertise them.

If there are enough people though, then as usual, we will be open...

Ok...so Saturday night at 330am? Who else is gonna go?? Btw, is this CBC "Hockey Night in Canada" coverage???
Hazza
You probably wanna get there at 1:00am.

3:30am is when the game ends!!

It's NASN coverage...wherever that comes from.
sk8rgrl
Oh, shit! Must have taken the glasses off for a second there. laugh.gif Ok...so 1am. I'll be there by midnight.
That's better anyway, gotta work at 8am Sunday...

It's Leafs vs. Flyers, I think...(if it's CBC)

Hazza - can you tape the Toronto Montreal match (NASN Wednesday 19th at 12 noon) and replay it at 21:00 on Saturday night prior to the Toronto Philly match?
Hazza
Game is taped!!!

So after all the queries and pre-season questions about showing the Ice Hockey, is anyone actually ever going to watch any games, or were you just conducting a survey to see who is prepared to show them?

Games are on almost every night and less than a dozen people have watched the NHL at The Arc so far this season.

With those sort of numbers, it's no wonder that nobody in Munich is prepared to show it...

I wish i could come watch but now am pregnant and the smell of the cigarettes in the pub makes me puke. Anyone know of a smoke free venue? (I seriously doubt it but ya never know until ya ask...)
