Hi everybody,
I'm new to Bonn (moved from Frankfurt a couple months ago) and find myself in need of three things: 1) A reasonably priced shoe repair shop to fix the heel on a pair of boots, 2) a reasonably priced tailor to repair the lining on a winter coat, and 3) a reasonably priced bicycle shop where I can buy new tires and inner tubes (and maybe a cushy gel seat) for my bike.
I live in Kessenich, work in Gronau, and can easily get to the city center, so if you have recommendations in those areas, it would be great.
Vielen Dank!

Hey there, welcome to Bonn! Hope you're settling in well.
For your bike needs, you could try the "Fahrradladen in der Südstadt", which should be pretty close to where you live: www.flids.de
Alternatively, there's the "Radstation" behind Bonn Hauptbahnhof. I always go there when I have problems with my bike, and they're very helpful and inexpensive.
I don't know about tailors or shoe repair places in your part of town, I'm afraid, but there are lots in the Yellow Pages. If you go to a normal shoe shop, they should be able to recommend someone to fix your boots.
Hope that helps a bit.

As of bike tyres, I bought a few times at good prices over the internet, at this shop:

good tailor on Bonner Talweg just before Weberstr when coming from Kessinich (on the left hand side just by the baby schlafsac store and the eyeglass store. I have used the Druken Wind shop for a bike tuneup and they were fast, not overpriced and helpful. They are on Kaiserstrasse on the left just before you get to the Bus Platz. No info on a shoe repair, sorry
Good luck

Hi all and thanks for the suggestions.
As it turned out, I just went to a place down the street from where I live for my tailoring needs. They did a good job and were pretty reasonably priced - They also do dry cleaning. They sewed a bunch of buttons on my coat, dry cleaned it and a cashmere sweater, and even repaired the lining on the coat at no charge. Total: 19 Euro.

For shoe repair I went to a place in the same area - can't remember the name, but it was on the first street after Puetzstrasse's intersection with Hausdorffstrasse. They said they couldn't repair the heel on my boots for some reason I didn't understand, but did a satisfactory job of replacing the heels on a pair of kitten-heel pumps, for about 8 euro.
After getting a recommendation from my roommate I went to a bike shop on Burbacherstrasse named Velo-something. The guy there was nice, and the prices seemed reasonable - better than the other bike shop near me, on the corner of Reuterstrasse and Bonner Talweg.
hope this info is helpful to someone else!
