Looking for English kindergarten

Hi,

We will be moving to Brandenburg (Mittenwalde in Dahme-Spreewald) next March and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions about English speaking Kindergartens in this area? My son will be about 2.5 years old by then.

Also any other general advice about this region or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Shane,
I live in Zeuthen, (about 15 km from Mittenwalde) and would be very surprised if there is one anywhere in the area. You might try asking someone at Desy Research Institute (or however they translate it) here in Zeuthen. They have a lot of people from outside of Germany and most of them speak English.

On the other hand, if you get a few more children together, I'll open a "Kindergarten" (ironically they don't actually call it that here)…but why do you want an English language kindergarten for your 2.5 year old son? In a few years when it's a question of becoming proficient with English grammar or German grammar, the answer might be different. But from what I've been told by people in similar situations, at this age, growing up with two spoken languages should not be a problem.
