UK Driving Licence - Germany

OK... I have a UK driving license (which expires on Monday) the DVLA did send me out a 'renew photo form', but due to circumstances I never got round to sending them back... I know that I wont be returning to the UK to live, so I might as well apply for a German license.. I am assuming that I need to go to Poccisstr, and bring Passport, photos, money, driving license... is there anything else I may need to bring, AND will they exchange a recently expired UK driving license? thanks
