Who would be interested in going to Frühlingfest on Sat. April 23rd? For those who don't know it's like a mini Oktoberfest.

I want to pull out my dirndl again! laugh.gif

WG; Have you ever been? There is a fun fair, but there are not really beer tents (although they advertise these, but not like Octoberfest) and just one little beergarden, and it even is a Palaner Weissbiergarden. I really like it there but I think you can't compare it to Octoberfest... But thats just what I think...
here is the Link to Frühlingsfest. definitely worth going in nice weather, very friendly and pieceful atmosphere.

I seem to remember there being an Augestiner beer tent there for the last few years... unsure.gif

This sounds good.
Ladies' Night on the 25th, women pay only 1€ per carousel ride after 7pm and also get further reductions on the stalls.
But even cooler - Thursday 21st April 7-8am all rides *free* (which is good for those of us that work near there ha ha).
Firework displays on 22nd and 29th April.

I got very drunk in a tent at the Frühlingsfest a few years ago.

Maybe i was just imagining it.

That's the evening of the over 30's dinner.
Winegirl
Yeah but I'm not over 30 and I was thinking of an all day thing anyway. I've never been there. It was described to me as a mini oktoberfest. People said it was the ofest for just locals. I know many who've gotten quite drunk in the past so they must have some sort of beer garden or tent.
Moonboot
oooh...when the Fest finishes (think at 11pm?) come down to The Arc cuz it's the St.George's Day night...think it'll be loads of fun! a big crowd of us is going. smile.gif
Eric the Hamster
I have been there before and there is usually one big beer tent there in a similar style to the o'fest tents.

I'll be up for this!
Winegirl
@ETH, in tracht? smile.gif
Winegirl
Talked to a bunch of people over the weekend who want to join. Post if you're coming so we can get an idea of how many are coming.
Johnny English
Was there Saturday. Messy.
BostonSportsFan
@Winegirl: What time are you thinking of going?
Plane Girl
what time winegirl as it is also st.george's day??? Im sure i can do both
ski
I was there on Saturday as well and the big beer tent was good fun with all the usual dancing on the chairs etc.
Johnny English
@Ski - in that case I had nothing to do with the rugby guys that stripped off on stage etc.
Winegirl
Err...hadn't picked a time yet. How's 2pm or 3pm sound?

Yep! Its more like a fun fair. The place is full of kids. But there are 2 beer tents. Augustiner and Paulaner. Not as big as oktoberfest tents but still really big and they have the same atmosphere. Also a decent outdoor area if the weather is nice.

I would say it was similar to the Oktoberfest except a little tamer. I didn't see anyone in dirndl's either!!!
Winegirl
Oh sadness you mean the dirndl doesn't get to come out of the closet sad.gif
Yeti
Walked around the perimeter on Sunday and I saw a few dirndl's and lederhosen.
Trig
i did see one lederhosen. But that was it. This was... Last saturday.
Hippo
So is this happening?

If so, when are people going?
