For a job that I am currently discussing, I have two options for my location - Munich and Friedrichshafen. This looks like a no brainer comparison but being located in Friedrichshafen would be good for me professionally as it is close to the team I will be working with. However having visited Munich multiple times, I know that Munich has a larger English speaking crowd which will be better for me and my family.
Can someone with an experience of Friedrichschafen and the near abouts make any recommendation? What is it like to live in Friedrichschafen? Our knowledge of German is poor. Also, We are not much into night life but would like to have the occasional outings. If not Friedrichschafen, are there choices of a better city to stay nearby from where I can commute daily to work while as a family we can have a better life.
I am currently clueless about Friedrichschafen and its neighbourhood

I lived in Immenstaad, on the Bodensee for a year. Its a beautiful, but a very small city. Definitely less people fluent in English, so your German will improve rapidly. However, quite a few foreigners work in the eng companies around so you can meet people from all over the world for a small city. Cheaper than Munich too, although the public transport is quite bad (last bus at 1030 at night for example).
Nice place for a family, but I wouldn't go back to live in my current early 20's tbf.

Thanks Djecker for the quick response. Would you perhaps know what would be the nearest city/ town if my kid needs to go to an, say, International School?
