Meetup for Families in Stuttgart

We are looking to start exploring Stuttgart and surrounding area learning about how and where the locals (families with school age children) spend their free time. Ideally, a mix of experienced local folks and new folks would be fun and full of resources to start a group. We have two kids near Waiblingen on the train line, we would like to explore some of the area's activities off the beaten path, so to speak. We like music, art, outdoor activities, sports, biking, hiking, etc. So perhaps the long winter ahead will have some extra activities to look forward to and new friends to take this area from unfamiliar to fun and adventurous. near Waiblingen there is a river with some forests. on the river bank there is a Kanu Club.They have different kinds of boats.I was there one weekend and saw many people (adults,teenages and children)boating（some seemed quite professional）,seemed great fun.maybe you can just search it online to see if it suits your family :-）
