Is it just a coincidence that my parents who are over here visiting have been short changed by a couple of euros’ 4 times in one week?
and then when I went to Kilians yesterday with them they were charged for Guinness when we had ordered Helles, (an extra euro each)
the fact he told them the price and put the bill down the far end of the table where no one was sitting looked a bit dodgy that’s what got me wondering.
Are they being unlucky or is it because everyone seems to be trying it on as there are a lot of foreign visitors about!

That brings up a good point. Though I won't argue that drunk tourist might just start to look like ATMs to some... let's not forget Munich is experiencing an order of magnitude of tourists more than normal, and the wait staff everywhere is probably getting overwhelmed, leading to mistakes.

well, happens to both sides.
our waiter at löwenbräu keller last week told us he had trouble getting his customers to pay their bill. they simply walk away and leave him to pay their meal and drinks. (to be fair, he was a young waiter but neverthelss, people left him with over 150EUR to pay).
