I may have an opportunity to visit the Wiesbaden area in November. During my last visit, which was in 1996, I had dinner at a restaurant set in a forest. The menu offered traditional German food as well as a few interesting "game" specials, such as elk. This might be helpful: After dinner a humorous puppet show took place on a train set. Lastly, if I'm not mistaken, the restaurant was unofficially known as "The Forest." Does this sound familiar to anyone? Perhaps someone knows the name and location of this restaurant; thanks for your help.

Hi Barence, there are several restaurants that could match your description:
Villa im Tal (formerly known as Waldhaus Adamstal)
Hubertushuette
Schützenhaus
Tannenburg
Hope you find the one you are looking for.

Hi,
I would go with what was called the Waldhaus Restaurant in Adamstal. It looks a little different in the new website though. I assume that new owners have spruced the place up. However it was a favourite for locals ten or so years ago.

Thanks for all your help. It may very well be Villa im Tal. Although, The Chausseehaus is referred to on the website as the "Old Forest Restaurant." Either way, it looks as though I would enjoy myself at any of the places listed.
Thanks again,
Barence Trent Darby
