Will there be any such concerts?

Does anybody know whether Paul McCartney will be playing anywhere in Germany, anytime in the next year? I'm asking on behalf of a German colleague of mine.

I am trying to work out when his rock & roll credibility finally died.

Was it with Wings or was it the Froggy song?

I saw him play the Königsplatz in 2003 and it was GRATE

Quick blah:

I can't believe we get these threads about seeing Queen, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones and stuff live.

I reckon the UK is producing some of the best new music ever at the moment. Bands like Franz Ferdinand, Athlete, Graham Coxon, The Killers, The Streets, Stereophonics etc.

Why the bugger would anyone want to go and see Paul McCartney defies me? Nothing wrong per se in having their music in your collection, but pay for a ticket to see them wheel out their zimmerframes and old tracks???

Maybe I am just not nostalgic enough, or more likely having a male menopause moment.

All a matter of taste, though, innit, I suppose.
I totally agree with your taste, as it happens, you'd have to pay me a hefty sum to go see MacCartney in concert. Surely he should hang up his zimmerframe by now, he's been crap for at least 20 years. Mull of Kintyre. Says it all.

Many years ago I was given a couple of free tickets to see Eric Clapton at the Albert Hall when I worked in the city. I fell asleep (used to work long hours) so my mate woke me up and we went and got pissed in the bar until the end of the concert.

@Johnny English

I asked on behalf of a German colleague in her 50's, not myself! Just doing someone a favour, you know?

By the way The Killers are American. tongue.gif

I hear ya - was just generalising about these old bands etc.

The Killers - um yeah from Las Vegas, wasn't thinking that hard when I typed. But they get my vote anyway!

Heck...the 'Phonics are from Wales!

I'm not ashamed to own to being a fan and I would LOVE to go to one of his concerts!
