My name is Mr. Barnaby but my friends call me Mr. B for short. My mum is called Mr. Barnaby’s Mum.

My mum says the journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond is a new and exciting adventure, but it can be stormy and treacherous at times just like our voyages across the high seas.

That’s why we’re creating a warm and friendly English-speaking environment aiming to connect, support and encourage new and expecting English-speaking parents through events and activities, practical tips and suggestions and useful information and resources.

Could your little one be the next Mozart or Beethoven? Come along to Music Maestros, my new class starting on 9 October, to find out!

Music Maestros are music classes for kids aged 6 months to 2 years old run by Anne-Cécile, a professional singer and musician. In Anne-Cécile’s classes, the aim is to encourage the little ones to develop, grow and explore the world around them through music and song. There will be plenty of musical activity to enhance your kids senses and creativity, with each class incorporating a mixture of action songs and rhymes, music and movement, fun with percussion and musical games.

Dates & Time: Fridays from 9 October – 13 November, 12.15 - 1.00pm

Yes, absolutely! The sessions run at Pustekuchen every Thursday from 4.00-4.30pm, and for people living over the other side of town, there's also a session held at Freund Blase in Prenzlauerberg every Monday at the same time.

Will you and little Leah be joining us again this week?

Great! We had lots of fun last time so we'll definitely be coming along again this Thursday. I think the 30 minutes is just perfect for Leah!

Hello Mums,

Yogic Mums with the lovely Julie Blumenthal starts this Wednesday (14 October) from 3.00-4.00pm at Amitola Familien Cafe in Friedrichshain.

The weekly classes aim to aid your recovery from pregnancy and birth by strengthening the pelvis, toning the abdominal muscles and supporting the lower back. Julie will also deal with the daily aches and pains that can result from feeding, bathing and cuddling by releasing chronic back, neck and shoulder tension. We hope the classes will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready for another day of adventure with your little ones!

Whilst you’re toning and flexing those muscles, your kids will be entertained and well taken care of in the room next door by a qualified childminder so there’s no excuse to avoid a good workout!

The classes are suitable for mums at all levels of fitness and for those with and without any previous yoga experience.

Dates & Time: Wednesdays from 14 October, 3.00-4.00pm

I've done some investigation and it seems as though Yogic Mums wouldn't be covered under insurance but I suggest you give your insurance company a call just to double check. I went along to the class today and thoroughly recommend it. Julie is one of the best yoga teachers I've ever come across!

Come in from the cold and join us for a nice cup of warm English tea and a chat at the Four o'clock Club . Mala will be coming along from 4.15-4.45pm to entertain us with songs, stories and games and then they'll be time for free play for the kids giving the mums and dads an opportunity to relax a little (in theory at least!).

The Four o'clock Club is held every Monday afternoon at a mum's cosy home in Prenzlauer Berg and is geared towards kids between the ages of 1-2.5 years old. Reservation in advance is required so we know how many people to expect. The cost is 5 EUR including refreshments.
