This tent still has spaces to rent a table. I'm going with 6 friends, but we wouldn't mind splitting up for a couple hours when need be. We can't get there until about 1230, because we booked our train tickets so late, so we're hoping to find a Biergarten somewhere to squeeze into. We were also thinking about making reservations at this tent, even though it doesn't open til 6. Would you recommend that?
Any other tips on where we might be able to get in? Are there multiple outdoor seating places, for instance? When we can't get in anywhere, what else is there to do?
Thanks!

So you're coming all the way to Munich just to go to the Löwenbräubiergarten at Stiglmaierplatz?? I really don't get what you're trying to do.
If you're in Munich at 12:30 just go to the Oktoberfest, shouldn't be a problem to get into one of the tents at that time of the day. True, you won't get a whole table for yourself on the weekend, but squeezing in is part of the fun.

Why not go to the Oktoberfest grounds and find a seat? You can go to the Loewenbraeu Keller any old time.
People seem exceedingly hung up on having reservations these days.

I think the TS is not talking about the Löwenbräubiergarten at Stiglmaierplatz but the Wiesn' Zelt am Stiglmaierplatz, see also http://www.daswiesnzelt.de/

It's the same thing. Either way, it's not Oktoberfest and therefore completely pointless for the OP to go there.

Well obviously they must've thought that this "tent" was actually at the Oktoberfest! Whoops, would love to see the look on their faces when they realised...

People have alluded to it above, but it should really be clarified that the "Wiesnzelt" is NOT at the Oktoberfest grounds. It is a hall setup at the Loewenbraeukeller to either trick people into reserving a table and make them think that they are going to the Oktoberfest, or to deal with the late night crowd that show up after the festival. Their advertising and the way they promote it is very misleading and deceptive in my opinion.

Hutcho is right, but the Wiesnzelt offers the best after Wies'n party in town! That place is rolling come about midnight so I'd keep it in mind for afterwards. No reservations necessary at that time.

Have just purchased 5 tickets for Das Wiesnzelt for 3rd October. Only 2 of us if your interested in the other 3 tickets?
