Hello everybody,
This is my first post, I'm new to Frankfurt and Toytown, but not really new to Germany...
After learning German for about 18 months in Dresden I've moved to the West! To find some work...
My first thought was teaching English, although I'm not wanting to limit myself and am trying a few different avenues.
But concerning the teaching idea; does anyone know of schools that offer TEFL courses here in the Frankfurt area? I've found plenty of Arbeitgebers that WANT people with TEFL qualifications before they'll consider you for an interview but have yet to find anywhere nearby to get said qualifications.
Thanks a lot!

Hi jedisha,
Unfortunately there's nowhere in Frankfurt to get certified as a TEFL teacher. I just finished the CELTA course at the Berlin School of English and highly recommend it. There's also the Hamburg School of English, and the VHS in Munich, but that's it for certification courses in Germany.
Good luck!

Hi jedisha,
It's true, you can't do a TELF course in the Frankfurt area, but there is an organisation that might be able to help you find a course, or at least point you in the right direction. It's called the "English Language Teachers Association Frankfurt", www.eltaf.de.
I've been teaching English here for over 10 years and found this organisation a great help.

If you want CELTA, then yup, those three places in Germany. The UK and other nations of course ( assuming you have the right to go there).
If you mean any old TEFL qualification just to say you have a cert, then on-line is an option and, again, many providers offer classroom courses in the UK or in some main European cities (eg. Paris).
