Looking to start Stitch'n'Bitch group in Berlin

Hello,

My name is Victoria and I would love to join/help to start a Stitch'n'Bitch group in Berlin. I don't really know that much about knitting myself, so I can't really teach anyone anything (well, a few things). My hope is that some more experienced folks would wanna join and share some knowledge. I live in Prenzlauer Berg but wouldn't mind meeting in some other 'hood, as long as it wasn't too far away. But maybe Mitte/Kreuzberg/Neukölln/F'hain.

I was thinking of this myself! I want to learn to knit, as well, though I usually have some other type of project I could bring to work on. I'm in Nikolassee but somewhere central would suit...

i'm interested. i am just learning to knit now (started last week, actually. again.), and I think it would be fun to learn together and chat. i live on the very edge of mitte (i'm about a block from p-berg), so you probably aren't too far from me. i could bring the stitch n bitch official book, lol, i own it. if it comes up, i could host it at my place one time. i have space for a bunch of people in my living room... let's see if anyone else is interested.

So far I've heard from three ladies interested. Thank you all for shown interest. I also have one person outside of Toytown that I think may be interested. Maybe Mitte/Prenzl'berg would be a good hood to meet? I know of some nice cafés. And yes, the Stitch'n'Bitch official handbook sounds good.

I actually thought about taking up knitting again so I would be up for it! My aunt taught me when I was a teen (26 now) but I think I have forgotten everything ! I would pick it quickly, the very basics at least . I live in Wilmersdorf, West Berlin but work in Kreuzberg.

There's this group that seems to have taken the summer off -- what if you post there and ask? Other members may have subscribed to the thread.

I'd love to join in starting the knitting group, AND I can both knit and crochet. Let's do it. I'm out of town until Oct 8. If we set a location for a day or two after that, I'd be glad to teach both fiber techniques. Victoria, if you name the place and time, I'll tell you all what to bring, and we'll go from there. Hello All crafty Ladies (and maybe dudes)!

I've been busy with a million things but now I really want to get this going. I was going to suggest Thursday nights, starting next Thursday, October 8th, maybe at 7pm. And I was thinking about this cute café on Zionkirschstrasse, off Kastanienallee. So I am not sure if it's officially in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg. I will also post the exact name (I've been there 5-6 times but never noticed the name) and address before the weekend is over. Anyway, it's spacious, with second-hand couches and stuff, sweet staff and inexpensive coffee and snacks.

I guess everyone that wants to come should just bring something they are working on or want to work on.

So could this work for anyone?

And BTW, we don't have to bitch ... Just stitch and converse ...

I'd love to attend - and I live right nearby. Is that cafe still open? I think it's called Cupcake Bakery. I will go check it out. I work late on Thursdays, but I should be able to make it by 7:30.

It's not the Cupcake - that cafe is closed. I will post the name and exact address here later on today when I've checked it out!

Ok, so the café seems to be called Weinerei Café, although there's no sign. It's on the corner of Fehrbelliner Strasse and Veteranen Strasse. Exact address being Veteranen Strasse 14. Let's meet there around 7-7.30pm Thursday the 8th. Send me a PM or post here to let me know if you can make it.
